Vale Royal Crematorium in Northwich run a metal recycling scheme and with the money raised from the recycled metal they share it between different charities. For the Love of Lydia was one of the charities chosen and we have been given the very generous donation of £3000 which will go towards the upkeep of Lydia’s Lodge. We would like to say a big thank you to Vale Royal Crematorium for supporting our charity, because of your support more families will be able to get enjoyment from Lydia’s Lodge.
Lydia was a special little girl who captured the hearts of many with her infectious laugh. She loved listening to music and would enjoy anything which had a good beat! Her favourite TV programme was Pippin the dog and she adored her beloved Tweenies. She was also inseparable from her devoted twin sister and they would often get up to mischief together.
When Lydia was 3 she was diagnosed with a very rare brain tumour and she spend a big proportion of the next three years of her life in Alder Hey hospital on both neurosurgical and oncology wards needing many operations and intensive treatment, and her final days in Claire House Hospice. Throughout this time she kept us all entertained with her funny little ways and showed incredible bravery and had amazing stamina, until on the 13th July 2009 when she was just aged 6 the fight became far to much for her and she passed away peacefully in the arms of Mummy and Daddy.
♥ Lydia was a true inspiration to us all and a gift from heaven. ♥
